4th Annual Art Quest

April 12th, 2016 - The Colony, TX



THE COLONY, Texas — The City Manager’s Arts Committee is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Art Quest public art event, held Oct. 17-18 and 24-25 at the City Hall Annex.

“We had a wonderful turnout, with 175 visitors to Art Quest this year,” said Joan Lux, CMAC member. “All that visited had wonderful things to say.”

Lux said visitors came from all around the D/FW area, including Lewisville, Little Elm, Denison, Grapevine, Garland, DeSoto, McKinney, Plano, and Dallas. Some visitors came from as far away as Palmer, Tex., Austin, Oregon, Delaware, and the United Kingdom.

This year’s winners are:

Best of Show: Roy Grinnell, “Crow War Shield and Cover;” and Buck Buchheister, “Clown Pants”

People's Choice: Taylor Lea, “Bubbles”

First place: Beth Harty, “Drift Away;” and Tony Stern, “Water Lillies”

Second place: Tiny (Christine) Irizarry, “Beeware;” and Iske Stern, “Aspens”

First place (under 18): Taylor Lea, “Bubbles”

Second place (under 18): Kristen Longo, “Life Print”

Honorable Mention (any age): John Perry, “Angel Fish;” Christi Martin, “You Shall Truly Sing;” Doug Taller, “Walk In The Park;” Lauren Vinita, “Space Odyssey;” and Isabella Leal, “#PinkBuggy Adventure”
